Called for a Tanker Task Force Assignment to Egg Harbor Twp for a large mulch/trash fire. Tanker 16-5 arrived and shuttled water to the scene, and assisted in setting up and taking down ponds.

Called for a smoke investigation. Arrived to find homeowner burring branches in a contained fire pit. Fire was creating excessive smoke. Advised homeowner to not add any more materials and to contact State Forest Fire about obtaining a permit to burn.

Incident #2026-101 – 07/27/2026 18:32 – 500 Elwood Rd – Fire – Smoke Inside
Received a call for an activated smoke alarm at the Elwood School. Units arrived on scene and investigated. Found Kitchen hood ventilation motor was burning up. Power was cut to the hood and negative ventilation was applied to clear the smoke. Crews searched the entire school for extension and deemed the school clear. Tanker 16-5 remained on scene until the Atlantic City Electric arrived on scene.

Incident #2026-100 – 07/25/2026 08:41 – S White Horse Pike/S 2nd St – MVAROLL – MVA with rollover
Called for a motor vehicle accident, rollover, with wires down at the intersection of Route 30 and 2nd St. On arrival, found a single car vehicle accident, vehicle on it’s side. Only occupant of the vehicle self extricated and was examined by AtlantiCare EMS. Vehicle had went through a utility pole. Wires going down 2nd St are now hanging very low across the entire highway and is impassable. Routed eastbound traffic down Maple Ave to Moss Mill Rd. Routed westbound traffic down Burdick Ave to Moss Mill Rd. Also blocked traffic from coming down 2nd St from Moss Mill Rd. Stood by until vehicle was removed and continued to control traffic until State DOT arrived to take over traffic duties. Released scene to State DOT, Atlantic City Electric, and Verizon.
