SOMERS POINT Firefighters Thursday battled a blaze at a house on Bay Avenue and one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 2:57 p.m. in the 400 block of Bay Avenue.

The house is a two-story building near the corner of Groveland Avenue.

Somers Point, Northfield, Ocean City and Egg Harbor Township firefighters responded.

The home was vacant for two to three years before being sold a couple of months ago, neighbors said.
