Memorial Day 2012

The Elwood Fire Company would like to remind everyone that Memorial Day is a United States Federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who perished while in military service to our country.

So let's take time out to say "Thank you" to those who have fallen.

Public Notice: Large Scale Search on Sunday and Monday

The Elwood Fire Company along with many other Atlantic County departments and organizations will be conducting a large scale search for missing local resident Joseph Herbert who has Alzheimer's.  The search will be on  Sunday December 18th between 8am and 3pm. And on Monday December 19th. between 8am to 3pm.

The public should be aware of searchers going through the woods and passing out flyer in the Elwood section on Mullica Twp.

Anyone with any information on where Joseph Herbert may be is asked to contact the Mullica Twp. Police Department immediately at 609-561-7600.

It is with deep sorrow that we The Elwood Vol. Fire Company inform our neighbors of the death of Past President and Life Member, William H. Kennedy.  Bill Kennedy was a thoughtful, caring and kind man who took immense pride by serving Mullica Twp as a firemen and an elected official.  We who worked with him admired his sense of family, community,  and his humor.  He loved Mullica and sincerely believed in doing the best for all the residents. 
Bill was a good man, and he will be sadly missed.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 7 to 9PM and on Wednesday August 31, from 9 AM to 10am at the Landolfi Funeral Home, 237 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Martin Church, Egg Harbor Rd., Hammonton of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton.

Hammonton Chief Domenick Digiovannangelo would like to thank the members of the Hammonton Fire Department, Collings Lakes Fire Company and Elwood Fire Company. Through their hard fought efforts and aggressive interior attack another residence in the town of Hammonton was saved from fire last night.

Hammonton Fire Department Battles Car Fire with a Body Inside

The Hammonton Fire & Rescue Departments were called to Linda ave near Sindoni Lane for a fully involved car fire at 3:20am Sep 29th. NBC 10 was reporting this morning that a body was discovered in the car.
