A family is now without a home after a fire, that was reportedly caused by an outside grill which severely damaged the Mays Landing residence Sunday morning.
After authorities responded to the fire at 36 Chancellor Park around 4:30 a.m, the homeowner, Jeffery Perkin, his wife, and four children had already evacuated the house. Two minor injuries were reported at the scene and treated by Hamilton Township Rescue Squad. Although authorities controlled the fire within 30 minutes, the home sustained extensive fire and water damage and homes on either side of the fire also sustained moderate exterior damage. The homeowners are staying with family in the area.
