Attic fire extinguished at Weymouth Twp. home

Fire-Rescue NewsWEYMOUTH TWP. -- Firefighters put out an attic fire Friday before it could spread to the rest of the house. The fire stated Friday evening on Pennsylvania Avenue in the Dorothy section of the township, when an attic ceiling fan overheated, igniting nearby insulation. Firefighters entered the attic through a closet crawlspace and using pressurized water-cans, extinguished the fire. After checking for any left-over hot spots, the scene was cleared. The chief of Dorothy's volunteer fire company said he expects to the family to return to the house later on Friday.
