PLEASANTVILLE - Firefighters are battling to extinguish a blaze that destroyed a Pleasantville home Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 3 p.m. at a house on the 300 block of North Main Street. Multiple companies responded to the blaze, which also drew companies from surrounding areas, including Northfield, Absecon, and Ventnor.

Initial reports indicate the fire reached two alarms. An NBC 40 reporter on scene says there is visible smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters are also battling the elements as snow began to fall around the same time Friday.

Main Street is closed to traffic in the area. The house has been ruled a total loss.

It is unknown if anyone was home at the time. It is also unknown if there were any injuries caused by the fire.
