Fire Rescue News- HOMELESS MAN SETS FIRE TO HIMSELF IN BUS TERMINAL
ATLANTIC CITY -- An arson investigator was called to the New Jersey Transit Bus Terminal in Atlantic City early Friday morning, after authorities say a homeless man set himself on fire inside a bathroom.
It happened around 1:30 a.m.
Firefighters tell NBC 40 a homeless man went into a bathroom with papers and bags, lit the items on fire, then laid down. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for serious injuries, including burns and smoke inhalation, though his condition is unknown at this time.
Authorities added the man suffered from mental issues.
No one else was injured, though the building was evacuated for a period of time as authorities investigated. The incident remains under investigation.
