OCEAN CITY - Firefighters had their hands full in Ocean City where a two-alarm blaze broke out Wednesday evening, heavily damaging two properties, and one local police officer braved the flames to save at least one occupant.
The blaze broke out around 6:15 on the 35 hundred block of West Avenue, that's where one single family home caught fire and the flames quickly spread to the neighboring duplex.

home safely. Another resident, Robert Demore, 61, re-entered the burning building to look for Robbins, not realizing she had made it out safely. When Damone re-entered the building, Ocean City police officer Jeff Doto, went in after him before removing him from the building.
Doto and Robbins were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and have since been released.
Both homes sustained heavy damage and the roof was completely burned off the second home.
Fire officials are continuing their investigation into what sparked that blaze.
