Fire Rescue News - MARGATE FIRE HOUSE GETTING MUCH NEEDED REPAIRS
MARGATE-Margate Fire House #1 is undergoing repairs this week after contractors called for emergency construction.
The building on Ventnor Avenue is 99-years old and has been unused since May, when engineers decided any strong wind could cause it to collapse. A temporary wall was put up in May to help.
Mayor Michael Becker said there is no date set for the construction to be completed as of yet, "We do not because as we get further and further into this we're finding more things and we have our assurance that we will work together to get it done. We want to keep our firefighters safe, we want to keep our people in Margate safe."
The project could cost as much as $3 million.
