Fire Rescue News - Dennis Firefighters Respond to 3 Alarm Fire At State Prison
LEESBURG -- Dennis and Belleplain volunteer fire companies were called as mutual aid for a three-alarm fire in Cumberland County on Sat., Jan. 15 at 4. a.m.

heavy smoke and fire coming from a maintenance building on the prison grounds.
Leesburg Fire Department immediately requested full mutual aid response from surrounding companies, including Belleplain.
Leesburg eventually requested response by the Cumberland County Tanker Task Force, dispatching tankers from fire departments throughout that county to respond.
Additional assistance was required some time later, and Leesburg requested the services of Dennis Fire Company, as well as several tankers from Atlantic County.
At 7:30 p.m., Belleplain firefighters were again dispatched to the scene as mutual aid after the fire rekindled.
New Jersey State Police, New Jersey Department of Corrections, and the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
