Fire Rescue News - 100 EVACUATED FROM VENTNOR HIGH RISE APARTMENT COMPLEX
VENTNOR -- Nearly 125 senior citizens were evacuated from their homes after a fire broke out in a high rise apartment building early Friday morning.

3:20 a.m., where the blaze broke out in a second floor apartment.
The flames were brought under control within 30 minutes, however, the resident living in the apartment was hospitalized for smoke inhalation and minor burns. They have since been treated and released.
Firefighter Kevin Flynn also sustained a minor injury to his leg, but was treated at the scene.
Fortunately crews were able to keep the flames contained to the one apartment, however, firefighters did have to move all of the elderly residents to another adjacent building, until they were able to clear all of the smoke out.
Most of them were allowed back into their apartments early this morning, but close to 15 others living in the same wing where the fire took place have been temporarily displaced.
Officials estimate the damages to be around 150 thousand dollars. An investigation is ongoing.
