the vehicle approximately 25 feet into the building.
The minivan was on fire in the engine area. Firefighters on the scene were able to contain and extinguish the fire before it had a chance to spread into the building.
According to Pleasantville Police, the vehicle's driver, 35-year-old Daysi Sanz of Galloway Twp., was removed from her 2001 Chevy Venture by Officer Shawn Brown. Sanz received treatment for injuries she received as a result of the accident. Officer Brown sustained a shoulder strain injury and also suffered a hand injury from broken glass. The fire department reported that Brown was treated for smoke inhalation.
Both Sanz and Officer Brown were transported by Pleasantville Ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical center, City Campus. Sanz's condition is unknown as of now. Officer Brown was unable to return to work Wednesday.
