Fire Rescue News - Thanksgiving day fire displaces family of five in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY--A fire in a building on North Westminster Avenue displaced five people on Thanksgiving morning, Atlantic City Fire Chief Dennis Brooks said.

The fire was reported at 11:25 a.m. at the two-story, brick and wood-frame house at 525 North Westminster, near New York and Adriatic Avenues. The first units were on the scene in.....Continue Reading



 four minutes, Brooks said, and the fire was brought under control by 11:45.

The damage, which Brooks estimated to be in the $20,000 to $30,000, was mostly caused by smoke and contained to one bedroom. The fire had ignited a mattress, Brooks said, and investigators were still determining the cause.

Three adults and two children were displaced by the fire and were relocated by the Red Cross, Brooks said.
