6:13 p.m. to a fire in a vacant garage at the former Booth Farm near the White Horse Pike and Jimmie Leeds Road.
Firefighters were able to save the structure but were unsure of what ignited the fire.
The cause remains under investigation, said Galloway Fire Chief Ron Garbutt on Friday.
At 6:29 p.m., the Bayview Volunteer Fire Company and Absecon Fire Department reported to a kitchen fire at home in the area of Theresa Court and Eighth Avenue.
Garbutt said the fire started on the stove because of cooking and spread to nearby cabinets.
A family who occupied the house was safely evacuated without injury and the fire was extinguished before the residence sustained significant damage.
