tour buses, garbage trucks and tractor trailers, organizer and Farmington Fire Company volunteer Fred Slunt said. The township will bring in seven instructors from the Gloucester County Fire Academy to teach firefighters different rescue techniques, such as how to tunnel through mangled vehicles, Slunt said.
The fatal crash in September involving a tractor trailer and a minivan on Mill Road in Egg Harbor Township prompted a number of area volunteer firefighters to register, Slunt said. “That’s heavy rescue. That’s exactly what this class is designed for.”

For more information, call the Farmington Volunteer Fire Company at 641-3012. The class is open to volunteer firefighters in Atlantic County, and the registration cost is $90.
