Fire Rescue News - Early morning house fire in Hammonton leaves family of five homeless
A family of five is staying with family members after their Hammonton home burned to the ground early Thursday.
Several fire departments were called to the house on West 15th Street, just south of Route 561, at about 12:30 a.m. Fire companies from Hammonton, Winslow Township, Folsom and Mullica Township were still working to extinguish the blaze past 4 a.m.
No people or animals were reported injured, Hammonton police Detective Joel Frederico said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
"We have some ideas, but we're going to wait until we're finished," Frederico said.
Three cars in the driveway were damaged, one totaled, from the fire's heat, he said.
