The Greens' van slid under the truck, which was stretched across the road, backing into the driveway of a residence.
Green was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His wife, Barbara S. Green, 73, had to be removed from the vehicle with an extrication tool. A helicopter was called at 8:03 a.m. and flew Barbara Green to the Regional Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City at about 9:10 a.m. Her condition was considered critical.
Mill Road east of Ridge Avenue was closed for three hours following the accident.
No summonses have been issued. Police are still investigating.
