An Ocean City woman is in serious condition after her car was struck by a pickup truck in the Scullville section of Egg Harbor Township Thursday afternoon, police said.

 her Ford Five Hundred was struck head-on by a Ford F250 pickup truck driven by Christopher Carter, 27, of Egg Harbor Township.

Carter was heading south on the same road when he veered into the other lane while going around the curve, Gray said, colliding with Sklut's vehicle in her lane.

Sklut suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics, Gray said. After she was pulled from her car by the Scullville Volunteer Fire Department, she was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus.

Carter, who suffered moderate injuries, was also flown to AtlantiCare.

The road was closed to all traffic for about two hours while the crash scene was being investigated and cleared.

Carter was issued summonses for reckless driving, failure to maintain his lane of travel and failure to wear a seat belt.

The collision is being investigated by officers Robert Moran and Brian Dickson.
