chlorine tablets exploded after pool water was accidentially splashed into it, police said. Blee was taken to the Regional Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City for treatment.
Absecon police, a Galloway Township ambulance and an AtlantiCare paramedic unit responded to the initial call, and the Absecon Fire Department and Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management assisted to properly secure the remaining chlorine. Several homes in the immediate area were evacuated, and traffic on South Mill Road was diverted for a short time, police said.
