3:30 p.m., rolled over and caught fire, police said. The driver immediately following the SUV, a firefighter from Cherry Hill, and another driver from Pennsylvania pulled the occupants out of the SUV.
By time police and firefighters arrived, the SUV was in flames, police said.
One occupant of the vehicle was airlifted to a trauma center, and the other three were taken by ambulance to local hospitals, police said.
Traffic was blocked at Zion Road and Mays Landing - Somers Point Road and was detoured to Ocean Heights Avenue.
Power was out for about two miles from the site of the accident, as the SUV hit a main transmission line, police said. About 400 customers in the area were without electricity, according to the Atlantic City Electric Web site.
