Fire Rescue News - Fire in Atlantic City displaces three and damages thrift store on Atlantic Avenue
ATLANTIC CITY — A two-alarm fire Friday afternoon displaced three people and damaged a quirky retail landmark on Atlantic Avenue Friday afternoon, but fire officials said the building was not significantly damaged.

3:40 p.m. A second alarm was soon called out, but Francesco said fire crews had the fire under control by about 4:10 p.m. and crews did final mop-up work later in the day.
The building housed Miss Audrey’s Human Connection, a small thrift store owned by Audrey J. Hart, 68, the president of the Atlantic City Business and Community Association. The store is an affordable, eclectic grab-bag of goods. The Venice Park resident could not be reached for comment.
The business suffered some smoke and water damage, fire officials said.
The fire at least temporarily evicted two women and one man, all in their 20s, who lived in the two apartments above the store, Francesco said.
Both the second- and third-floor apartments suffered smoke and water damage, with the top floor unit bearing the brunt.
Damage was centered in the middle of the top floor. Fire officials said the fire is being investigated, but said initial signs point to an electrical fire.
