Fire - Rescue News - Police say one killed after car hits tree, explodes on Atlantic City Expressway

A person died Saturday afternoon in Winslow Township, Camden County, when their car hit a tree in an Atlantic City Expressway median and exploded into flames.

State Police could not immediately identify the victim in the 1995 Dodge Neon that was traveling west on the highway before apparently losing control at milepost 40.5 in Winslow Township during a lane change at about 4:40 p.m.

Police closed one lane briefly.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.
