The Forest Fire Service said it has contained a 25-acre wildfire in a remote section of Wharton State Forest around Waterford Township and Hammonton.

warden Mike Achey said. It was no longer spreading by the early afternoon and is now under investigation.
The wind speed in the area was between 22 mph and 35 mph, and the temperature was between 75 degrees to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service.
The service said another fire north of Route 70 in Pemberton Township started Saturday around noon and could potentially be a major blaze, burning more than 100 acres. Crews were just responding around 1 p.m. and did not have more information immediately.
