Fire-Rescue News- Three hurt in two crashes on White Horse Pike in Galloway Township

Three people were hurt Friday in two separate accidents that took place on the White Horse Pike within little more than an hour, Galloway Township police said.

The first accident happened at 11:48 a.m. when Lorna J. Wilson, 50, of Port Republic, was driving south on Cologne Avenue and tried to enter the intersection with Route 30, and her car was hit by a car driven by Richard D. Wittaker, 74, of Mays Landing, who was going....Continue Reading

Whitaker, whose airbag deployed, suffered face and chest injuries and was taken by the Galloway Township Rescue Squad to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, police said. Wilson was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The second accident occurred at 1:09 p.m. when Helen Glicksman, 89, of Egg Harbor City, tried to turn left onto the White Horse Pike from Apple Road, and her car was struck by an SUV driven by Pratima N. Trivedi, 59, of the Pomona section of Galloway Township, police said.

Glicksman, whose airbag deployed, suffered head and chest injuries, and was taken to ARMC's City Campus in Atlantic City, police said. Trivedi suffered chest injuries and was taken to the Mainland Campus. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Paramedics from AtlantiCare and the Pomona Volunteer Fire Company also responded to the accident, police said.
