east on the road in a 1996 sedan at about 1:10 p.m. At the same time, Edythe Reinheimer, 89, was headed west in a 2008 subcompact, police said.

Police said Reinheimer's vehicle crossed the double yellow line and collided with Shirley's car near milemarker 7 in the township's Scullville section.

The Hamilton Township Rescue Squad took both Shirley and Reinheimer to Shore Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Their conditions were unavailable Wednesday night.

The Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare Paramedics treated the 5-year-old at the scene, before she was flown to Cooper Hospital-University Medical Center in Camden for further evaluation. Police were unable to provide the child's condition.

The accident slowed traffic for about an hour as crews cleared the scene. Police said they cited Reinheimer for failing to maintain a lane.
