One driver was hospitalized after late-night, four-car accident on Route 206 in Hammonton Sunday.

Hammonton Police Chief Frank Ingemi said the accident was reported before 11 p.m. - on a stretch of Route 206 located about six miles north of Route 30, near Chew Road in Wharton State Forest.

 Robert Clift of Langhorne, Pa., drifted across the yellow lines into oncoming, southbound traffic, striking two cars.

A person driving behind Clift was also involved in the accident.

Ingemi said Clift was airlifted to Cooper Memorial Hospital in Camden County due to his injuries. Hospital officials say Clift is in critical but stable condition Monday.

None of the other drivers were seriously injured. Clift was issued a summons for triggering the accident, Ingemi said.
