ATLANTIC CITY - An abandoned Michigan Avenue building was damaged by a fire Saturday night.
At 7:11 p.m., the Atlantic City Fire Department was called to a structure fire at a building on the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue. The fire was deemed under control at 7:47 p.m., and crews remained on the scene for several hours, according to Fire Chief Dennis Brooks....Contiune Reading

"It was a three-story, wood-frame home that was going pretty good when we got there," said Brooks, adding the fire was deemed suspicious. "All of the utilities were turned off and the first floor boarded up, but the second wasn't. So we're still looking to see how they got in."
Nearby resident Pearl Epps Running Deer said neighbors were banging on the door of the vacant home, to make sure no one was inside, prior to the Fire Department arriving.
"We were all knocking on the door hard and helping to get the next-door neighbor out of their house," she said. "This is a well-watched neighborhood."
Arson investigators were still attempting to determine the cause late Saturday night, Brooks said.
