A Vineland bowling alley was destroyed by fire early Monday morning.
The fire was reported before 4 a.m. inside Loyle Lanes Bowling Center on Delsea Drive, near College Avenue. Officials closed a section of Delsea Drive to fight the fire.

Dozens of firefighters battled the fire -- some using ladder trucks, some on the ground. By 5:30, the flames had subsided, but firefighters continued to blast the building's roof with jets of water.

Burned pieces of wood and metal lay in the parking lot in front of the bowling alley, twisted and mangled by the fire. The letters on the front of the building -- spelling the name of the alley, Loyle Lanes -- were warped, the final two letters missing, melted away.
Beyond fire, the firefighters are also battling bitterly cold temperatures. CBS3 meteorologists say today's wind chill factor in Vineland is in the single digits.
According to Loyle's Web site, the alley's owners were planning to add computers, monitors, new seating and carpeting at the bowling alley. The bowling center also housed a bar frequented by local bands.
The bowling center's Facebook page features posts and pictures of a New Year's Eve party, and mentions recent renovations.
