Fire/Rescue News - A.C. FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE KENTUCKY AVE. BLAZE
ATLANTIC CITY -- Firefighters were at the scene of a multiple-alarm fire on the 700 block of North Kentucky Avenue for more than an hour early this morning.
Crews were at the scene within minutes of receiving the call around 6:00a.m. The structure was fully engulfed upon arrival, however crews were able to get the blaze under control within 20 minutes. The 2-alarm fire required a total of five engines from Atlantic City. Two firefighters were treated for injuries at the scene.
At lease two occupants of the home were able to make if safely outside. One of them was taken to an area hospital for precautionary reasons.
Police blocked traffic on several streets while crews worked on the scene.
Damage to the structure is estimated at $200,000. Officials are still at the scene as they continue their investigation.
