Fire/Rescue News - Woman dies after getting hit by Little Egg driver on Route 9 in Galloway

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - A 54-year-old woman died this morning after a car hit her as she crossed Route 9.
Florencia Saravia, of the Smithville section of Galloway Township, got off a northbound bus at Route 9 and Smithville Boulevard. She stepped into the road and the path of a pickup truck heading south.
Driver Ronald D. Mathis, 45, of Little Egg Harbor, has not been ticketed or charged, according to a statement from Galloway police.
AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division Dr. John Becker pronounced Saravia dead at the scene about 6:43 a.m., police said.
Corporal Ed Fryling, Detective Donna Buccaferni and Officer Greg Bollinger are investigating.
