Egg Harbor Township - Teen hurt skating flown to hospital

A teenager was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, after falling while skateboarding Saturday at a skate park in Scullville.

Scullville Assistant Fire Chief John Webb said the accident happened at about 6 p.m. at the skate park on Ocean Heights Avenue.

A 19-year-old fell down while skating and suffered multiple injuries. His identity was not released.

A State Police helicopter took the teenager to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Linwood - Crash shuts Route 9

A two-car accident closed New Road, or Route 9, for about 45 minutes Saturday.

Police said the driver of a pickup truck made a U-turn when he was struck by a car traveling north on New Road at about 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

Police closed New Road between Seaview and West avenues for about 45 minutes.

The truck's occupant was not injured. The driver of the car was taken to Shore Memorial Hospital. Police did not release the names of the drivers.
