HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured Monday evening when he crashed his motorcycle into a tree in the Mizpah section, police said.

The boy was riding in a wooded area between Mizpah Road and Third Avenue at about 6:01 p.m. when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a tree, police said.

The rider, who was wearing a safety helmet, was treated for serious injuries by the township Rescue Squad and additional paramedic units before being airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, police said. The Mizpah Volunteer Fire Company also assisted at the scene.

No summonses have been issued, pending completion of the investigation, police said.
