Most of house destroyed, but no injuries in Upper Pittsgrove fire

Firefighters carry a hose around the side of a home, located at 73 Daretown-Alloway Road in Upper Pittsgrove, as flames burst through the roof Wednesday afternoon.

UPPER PITTSGROVE TWP. -- The garage and front portion of a home located at 73 Daretown-Alloway Road was completely destroyed by fire this afternoon, but luckily, no one was home when the flames broke out.

A woman who happened to be driving by spotted the smoke and flames and quickly called 911. She even went up to the house and banged on the door to make sure no one was home.

The fire broke out around 2:30 this afternoon and crews are still at the scene.
