EGG HARBOR CITY - A fire that broke out along the Egg Harbor City-Galloway Township border Saturday afternoon is about 75 percent contained, state Forest Fire Warden Greg McLaughlin said Sunday.
As of Sunday evening, the fire covered about 314 acres and had spread to an Atlantic white cedar swamp, which is difficult for firefighters to access, McLaughlin said.
He said the fire is likely to be 100 percent contained by today and should be under control by Tuesday or Wednesday.
The cause of the fire was undetermined Sunday night, but fire officials are continuing to investigate, McLaughlin said. No injuries or property damage has been reported.
