Teen hurt after swerving to avoid deer

Galloway Township - A 17-year-old girl was injured Tuesday after she lost control of her car while driving on Moss Mill Road in Galloway Township, police said.
The teenager was heading west when she swerved to miss a deer near Pomona Road at about 11:50 a.m., according to a statement from Galloway police.
She slid off the road and hit a tree on the driver's door. The Pomona Volunteer Fire Department had to extricate her from the car, police said.
The township ambulance squad transported her to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City, after she complained of leg and hand pain, according to the statement. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Officer Gregory Bollinger is investigating.
