The man, whose identity was being investigated, was involved in a minor collision with another car at about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 30 and 206, Sgt. Sam Mavilla said. He fled the scene, heading south on Route 30 and attempted to turn left in front of the Walmart, Mavilla said. The man ran a red light and slammed into a police officer's Dodge Durango, Mavilla said.

The officer, whose name was not released, was taken to Kessler Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was listed in stable condition Saturday night, Mavilla said.

The man was charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license, Mavilla said.
