GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - Four people were injured in an early morning accident that shut down two lanes on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway, State Police said.

A car traveling from Atlantic City went off the road near mile post 40.4, went over a guard rail and overturned several times at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The driver, Raymond Cifarone, 33, of Toms River, and his front-seat passenger, Evelyn Raini, 36, of Union, were trapped in the car and had to be removed. The two back-seat passengers, Chad Smith, 32, of Toms River, and Emily Raini, 30, of Union, managed to get out of the car on their own, police said.

One lane of the parkway was closed to allow helicopters to take Cifarone and Evelyn Raini, who had serious injuries, to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City, police said. Smith and Emily Raini were taken to AtlantiCare by ambulance.

I seen the accident and stopped to see if they needed help.It was hectic until the Medics came and everthing seemed to fall into place.Helicopters and two ambulances took the injured to AC Hospital and I have too give the medics kudos for doing their usual life saving job. They are a special type of people that we need more of.
