Absecon Fire Gets $30,000 Grant

  Absecon City Fire Company No. 1 will get $29,920 in federal funding to recruit, train and retain volunteer firefighters, according to a statement released Thursday by the office of U.S. Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo, R-2. The money will come from the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response program in the Department of Homeland Security, according to the statement.

The SAFER program has about $180.5 million to award to local fire departments specifically for the recruitment and retention of volunteer and professional firefighters. More information is available at www.firegrantsupport.com/safer.
