Fire Damages Two Rides on Morey’s Mariners Landing Pier in Wildwood

WILDWOOD - A fire damaged two rides on Morey’s Mariners Landing Pier early Monday morning, pier officials said. The fire was reported at about 1:20 a.m. in the vicinity of the Super Scooters and the Seal Flume rides on the north side of the pier.
The intense blaze was quickly brought under control and the damage was limited to the two rides.
At least 11 area fire departments responded to the alarm, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause, a pier spokeswoman said.
Both Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis Waterparks will open today at 10 a.m. as scheduled. Amusement rides on all three Morey’s Piers will open today at 12:30 p.m.
