Incident #1 for 2008 - Chimney Fire

On Monday Jan. 7th at 6:02am the Elwood Fire Company along with Nesco, Weekstown and Sweetwater were called to 2174 Elwood Rd for the report of a chimney fire. Engine 16-3 responded with a full crew and arrived on location shortly after. The chimney fire was out on arrival and the crew cleared the fire out in the fire place, they also laddered the roof and used chimney cleaning equipment to remove any burning embers. The home owner was advised not to use the fire place until it could be inspected and cleaned. All units were clear at 6:51am.
