FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT
On May 10th, 2007 at 08:30 pm a motor vehicle collision occurred on Moss Mill and Elwood Rd. The collision involved three vehicles, and it resulted in the death of one subject. John Gorman, 30, of Hammonton. Mr. Gorman was operating a dirt bike on Elwood Rd at an excessive speed, headed North from the area of Rt 30. Mullica Twp. Police officers were attempting to stop Gorman at the time of the collision. Gorman failed to stop at a traffic light at Elwood and Moss Mill Rd and collided with a vehicle operated by Lindsey Hicks, 30, of Hammonton NJ. Hicks was headed West on Mossmill rd when she collided with Gorman. Gorman was ejected onto a vehicle operated by a Mark Manasala, 17, of Elwood NJ. Hicks and Manasala were not injured during the collision. Gorman was airlifted to Cooper Hospital Camden NJ where he later died as a result of his injuries. Gorman was not wearing a helmet; the dirt bike he was operating was not registered. All of the events surrounding this collision are being investigated by the Mullica Twp Police Dept Sgt Wild and Det Thompson; The investigation is being overseen by the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office Fatal Collision Unit.
