The Elwood Fire Company was called to 700 Reading Ave (Water World Pools) in Hammonton for Structure Fire. Hammonton's first in crews found a fully involved commercial warehouse and placed all hand working. They quickly called for mutual aid from the surrounding area. Collings Lakes was called for their RIT team. Tanker Task Force B was activated bringing tankers from all over Atlantic County. Fire officials said they were called to the scene before midnight Monday and remained until 5:30 a.m. today. Fire companies from Burlington, Camden, Atlantic, Gloucester and Salem counties responded to help provide water for the operation.
The cause of the fire is still under investagion. No injuries were reported.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection was on scene monitoring water runoff, and state emergency management officials were checking air quality.
The company manufactures fiberglass pools and pool molds. Company officials said they plan to continue operations in a nearby building not affected by the fire.
