EHT Crash Kills Northfield Man, 74

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - A 74 year-old Northfield man died in a two car accident early Friday morning, according to township police.

Firefighters from the Bargaintown and Cardiff volunteer fire departments used an extrication device to remove McGee from his car.

But he suffered a fatal injury and died at the scene of the accident, Maiorano said. It is suspected that McGee might have experienced medical problems just before the crash, according to police.

The driver of the other car, Cheryl A. Campbell, 50, of Egg Harbor Township, suffered serious injuries, including a broken arm and legs, Maiorano said. Campbell was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus in Atlantic City. She was still being evaluated late Friday afternoon, according to a hospital nursing supervisor.

The road was closed and traffic was detoured for two hours while the accident was examined and cleared, police said. The incident is being investigated by the Egg Harbor Township Police Traffic Safety Unit and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Collision Unit.
